Constance H. Lau is president, chief executive officer and a director of Hawaiian Electric Industries, Inc., (NYSE: HE) holding company for Hawaiian Electric Company and American Savings Bank. She is chairman of the board of Hawaiian Electric Company. In addition, Lau is chairman of the board of American Savings Bank. She started her career with Hawaiian Electric in 1984.
Lau joined the Alexander & Baldwin Board in 2004 and became a board member of Matson, Inc. when the two companies separated in June of 2012. She also serves on the boards of a number of community organizations in Hawaii.
Lau received a bachelor's degree in administrative sciences from Yale University. She also received a juris doctor from the University of California's Hastings College of Law and a master's degree in business administration from Stanford University.
